The intractable war between the Joes and Cobra has claimed many lives on both sides over these long years of senseless warfare.

A fallen Joe needn't necessarily stay fallen, however.  Director Jon M. Chu hints that the next chronicle of the bloody war may find Channing Tatum returning to the role of Duke.

Like its indomitable hero, the Die Hard series has been beaten, bludgeoned, shot, and knocked around way past any reasonable point.

Yet, just like John McClane, the Die Hard franchise trucks on, whether we want it to or not.

Even after the forehead-slapper that was this year's A Good Day to Die Hard, another installment is virtually guaranteed at some point.  Screenwriter Ben Trebilcook has revealed some of the big ideas and story details involved in his proposed Die Hard 6, aka Die Hardest.

Opening in theaters on November 1st is the new 3D computer-animated comedy from director Jimmy Hayward (Jonah Hex, Horton Hears a Who!) called Free Birds. The film was co-written by Hayward and Scott Mosier (Clerks), and features an excellent cast of voice actors including Owen Wilson (The Internship), Woody Harrelson (Now You See Me), Amy Poehler (A.C.O.D.), George Takei (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan), Colm Meaney (Layer Cake), Keith David (They Live), and Dan Fogler (Scenic Route).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson to discuss their work on Free Birds. The talented and hilarious actors discussed their new film, its original concept, why they got involved in the project, their real life friendship, what Bruce Willis told Harrelson about Wilson, why Wilson doesn't like people doing impressions of him, Harrelson's excellent impersonation of Jimmy Stewart and Marlon Brando saying the film's tagline, and their favorite time traveling movies.

It’s never easy when a director helms a sequel to a movie that he didn’t originally make, but there are certainly many examples of successful directorial transitions such as Irvin Kershner with Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, or James Cameron with Aliens. Now director Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) can add his name to the list of filmmakers to successfully take over a franchise with his new film RED 2, which is the sequel to 2010’s RED and opens in theaters on July 19th.

In RED 2, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. In addition to Willis, the sequel once again stars Mary Louise Parker (R.I.P.D.), John Malkovich (Warm Bodies), Brian Cox (X2), and Helen Mirren (Monsters University), as well as franchise newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones (Broken City), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The Fist Avenger), and Anthony Hopkins (Thor).

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with director Dean Parisot about his work on RED 2, as well as his idea for a Bizarro Superman movie based on the popular DC Comics villain. The accomplished filmmaker discussed his new film, joining the popular franchise, directing a sequel, the graphic novel the series is based on, the movie’s animated sequences, collaborating with Bruce Willis, the comedic trio of Willis, Mary Louise Parker and John Malkovich, directing Byung Hun Lee’s action scenes, the two Hannibals, and whether or not his Bizarro Superman movie could ever really get made.

Synopsis: Retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

Just about a month out from the release of Red 2, Summit Entertainment has dropped the mother lode of clips from the sequel.

This a haul consisting of not one, not two, not even three official excerpts from the upcoming action comedy.  No, today we have no fewer than six Red 2 clips that run the gamut from action to comedy, with a helping of exposition on the side.
